Windows2000serverのADにWindows2003serverR2を追加

現行、1台のWindows2000serverSP4(DC1.foo.localとします)のドメインに
2003serverR2を追加しようとしているのですが、2003serverR2をドメインコントローラに昇格できません。
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/325379/ を参考に進めているのですが、手順2のbの
「フォレスト全体のエンド ツー エンドの Active Directory レプリケーション (複製) を確認」にて、
昇格前の2003server上でrepadmin /replsumを実行したところ、

C:\Program Files\Support Tools>repadmin /replsummary /bysrc /bydest /sort:delta
Replication Summary Start Time: 2007-07-22 13:11:53

Beginning data collection for replication summary, this may take awhile:
....


Source DC largest delta fails/total %% error


Destination DC largest delta fails/total %% error
Assertion


と表示され、レプリケーションが確認できません。
2000serverのDC1.foo.localにてdcdiagしてみたところ、

C:\Documents and Settings\admiral>dcdiag /test:replications

Domain Controller Diagnosis

Performing initial setup:
Done gathering initial info.

Doing initial required tests

Testing server: Default-First-Site\DC1
Starting test: Connectivity
......................... DC1 passed test Connectivity

Doing primary tests

と、一見問題ないように見えます。

一度、そのまま作業を進めて
2000serverのDC1.foo.localにWindows2003serverR2のディスクを入れて
adprep /forestprep と adprep /domainprep /gpprep を行い、
adprep /forestprep と adprep /domainprep /gpprep は正常に終了するのですが、
2003serverをドメインコントローラに昇格しようとすると
「ソースフォレストの Active Directory スキーマのバージョンは
このコンピュータの Active Directory のバージョンと互換性がありません。」
とエラーが発生します。

現在、adprepを行う前のバックアップに戻して調査していますが、
原因がわかりません。
レプリケーションの確認ができていないのが原因でしょうか？

Disc2に入っているadprepで解決しました。
