X Window Systemの情報を表示するには

　X Window Systemの各種情報を表示するには、xdpyinfoコマンドを使用する。xdpyinfoコマンドを実行すると、ホスト名やディスプレイ番号、スクリーン番号やXサーバのバージョン番号、現在の解像度や色数などが表示される。

　また、-ext allオプションを付けてxdpyinfoコマンドを実行すると、拡張（XFree86-VidModeExtensionやXFree86-DGAなど）に関する情報も併せて表示される（XFree86-VidModeExtensionはユーザーによる解像度変更、XFree86-DGAはフレームバッファへのバスマスタ転送）。
